Green tea is an excellent means of preventing stroke

Treatment of a stroke usually involves a course of vascular therapy, improving brain metabolism, oxygen therapy, exercise therapy as well as physiotherapy.

Experts recommend that preventive measures be taken to prevent the irreversible consequences that can sometimes accompany a stroke. Inclusion of green tea in the diet, as it turned out in the last study, can serve as one of the preventive methods. Japanese scientists believe that 3-4 cups of tea a day or 1 cup of coffee will help reduce the risk by 21%.

In the course of the scientific experiment, data from more than 100,000 people aged between 40 and 69 (47,400 of men and 53,538 of women) were studied. All participants were examined for cardiovascular disease, and filled out questionnaires that indicated information on their dietary intake, the prevalent products, and also noted the presence of bad habits and activity, weight, BMI, chronic and hereditary diseases. All patients with signs of heart disease and other hereditary, chronic diseases were excluded from participation. As a result, about 82 thousand people took part in the study. According to the results of this survey, several groups were singled out, one of which did not consume green tea, or only once or twice a week, and the other two - three cups a day. Also, scientists have tracked the amount of coffee consumed in parallel. Participants were observed for 13 years and all cases of cardiovascular diseases, deaths and other serious abnormalities were recorded.

As a result, during the thirteen year period, 3,425 cases of stroke and 910 cases of ischemic heart disease were detected. Analyzing, comparing all the data obtained, scientists came to the conclusion that drinking 2-3 cups of green tea daily, one is 14% less likely to develop a stroke. And drinking four or more cups reduces the risk by 20%. Similar indicators were also found when coffee was included in the diet, but in this case, already 1-2 cups were enough to reduce the risk by 12%.

Thus, due to the high content of vitamins C, P, B, K, PP, A, D, E, and microelements of fluoride, zinc, iodine, copper, manganese, phosphorus, calcium, green tea will help not only to strengthen the immunity, but also serve as a remarkable prevention of diseases of the cardiovascular system.
